Setting Up Email Notifications

Now that we have set up our probes and alarms, we can get into setting up our alerting/notifications. This is highly customizable, allowing you to determine what needs to be sent out as notifications or alerts, and when. 

1. Select the "Administration"Menu.

2. Select the "Alert Management" menu item.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the list of notifications and you will see a series of drop downs and fields. This is the location where you set up desired notifications. Once you are finished, to the right is a "Save" button.

4. The table below describes each of the fields with their respective options. 

Select A Category

All Entities

This will send a notification for all devices, device types, groups, group collections, and sites.

Device

If this category is selected, a new drop-down will appear to the right, where you can browse and select a single device from the menu.

Device Types

If this category is selected, a new drop-down will appear to the right, where you can browse and select a single device type from the menu.

Group

If this category is selected, a new drop-down will appear to the right, where you can browse and select a single group  from the menu.

Group Collection

If this category is selected, a new drop-down will appear to the right, where you can browse and select a single group collection from the menu.

Site

If this category is selected, a new drop-down will appear to the right, where you can browse and select a single site from the menu.

Status

Status change to Error

Notifications will only be sent to the designated email address(es) if the status changes to “Error.”

Status change to Error or Warning

Notifications will only be sent to the designated email address(es) if the status changes to “Error.”

Status matches Search Text

Notifications will only be sent to the designated email address(es) if the status matches the search text that is input into the subsequent field to the right.

Notification Dispatch Timing

Immediately

As soon as the targeted status change occurs, a notification will immediately be dispatched by the application.

5 Minutes

After a 5 minute delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

10 Minutes

After a 10 minute delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

15 Minutes

After a 15 minute delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

30 Minutes

After a 30 minute delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

1 Hour

After a 1 hour delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

2 Hours

After a 2 hour delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

5 Hours

After a 5 hour delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

1 Day

After a 1 day delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

5 Days

After a 5 day delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

10 Days

After a 10 day delay, a notification will be sent to the assigned email address(es).

Frequency of Notifications

Only Once

The notification to the assigned emails will only be sent once.

30 Minutes

The notification to the assigned emails will be sent every 30 minutes.

1 Hour

The notification to the assigned emails will be sent every hour.

6 Hours

The notification to the assigned emails will be sent every 6 hours.

12 Hours

The notification to the assigned emails will be sent every 12 hours.

Daily

The notification to the assigned emails will be sent daily.

Weekly

The notification to the assigned emails will be sent weekly.

Emails Addresses to be Notified

Text input field

Input the different email address(es) that will receive the notification, separated by a comma (e.g., email1@email.com, email2@email.com, etc…).

 

Once you are finished selecting the notification items, to the right of the form is a "Save" button. Once saved, the notifications will automatically trigger when the associated criteria have been reached. Notifications can be easily deleted by selecting the “Delete” button to the right of the notification found in the notification list.
