Configuring Your Network Summary
The core of Komodo Eye® relies on properly setting up the sites, device types, devices, and probes. Other guides will cover all of the reports, tools, and views that you can use to elevate your network monitoring experience.
Viewable from every page in the Komodo Eye®, the Network Summary bar on the left-side of the screen. By default, this view of the network will show all of your device types and network sites, grouped by each type or site.
By setting up groups and group collections, you can add additional user-defined categories to organize and view your network devices, making it easier to quickly scan the lists to gain insights into the health of your network, aided by the color-coded Ok, Warn, and Error indicators.
The groups and group collections can be used to create custom groupings and organization of devices, outside of the sites and device type categories, providing you with flexibility to tailor your network views and organization within the Komodo Eye®.
Creating a New Group
1. Select the "Administration" menu.
2. Select the "Groups" menu item to open the sub-menu.

3. Select "Groups List" from the sub-menu.
4. Once the group list screen loads, select the "Add Group" button above the list to create a new group.
5. After the group creation screen is displaying, name the group using the "Enter Group Title" field.
6. After naming your group, select the devices that you wish to add to the group. For example, if you want to group together devices that perform a certain function within the network, you can filter for, or scroll through the list to select those devices using the check boxes (circles) on the left of each listed device.
7. After selecting all of the devices that you wish to have associated with the group, click the "Save All Changes" button at the top of the screen. Your grouping of devices can now be viewable from the "Group Lists" page and is now able to be added to a collection, which displays in the "Network Summary" column on the left of the screen.
Creating Group Collections
Now that you have created a group, or groups of devices, you can gather them into collections that can be displayed in the left sidebar’s Network Summary section, alongside the default device type and sites collections.
1. Select the "Administration" menu.
2. Select the "Groups" menu item to open the sub-menu.

4. Select the "Groups Collections" sub-menu item.
5. After the screen has loaded, select the "Add Collection" button.
6. Name the collection of groups using the "Enter Collection Title" field.
7. Select the checkbox(es) for the group(s) that you wish to add to the collection and display in the "Network Summary" sidebar that is always viewable on the left.
8. Select "Save All Changes" and after refreshing the page, or navigating to another screen, you will see your new group collection appear in the "Network Summary" sidebar on the left of the screen.
9. All the collections have been minimized to clearly show that the "Test Collection" has been added to the "Network Summary." When toggled open, you can see the groups that were created and added to the collection, easily seeing the "Ok," "Warn," and "Error" status for the devices grouped within the collection. You can modify, add, and remove groups and collections at any time.
10. Further, you can select the collection or group from the "Network Summary" left sidebar to display the grouped devices that fall within the defined groups and collections, providing quick access to areas of interest within your network.
